Our mission

Every community deserves a free clinic.

Langar for health

In Sikh tradition, Langar is the free community kitchen open to all. We extend that spirit to basic health care: free consultations, screenings, and health education — as a standing act of seva (selfless service).

Open to everyone

Our clinics run at Gurdwaras, churches, and community centers, and serve anyone who walks in. No insurance, no ID, no appointment, no questions about who you are or where you're from.

Clinics in a box

We give volunteer teams everything they need to run a clinic: a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record, telehealth scheduling, training, and organizational support — free to every clinic.

Our story

Started by two high-school students during COVID.

2021

Two Northern California high-school students, searching for a way to serve during the pandemic, open the first free clinic at the El Sobrante Gurdwara Sahib — first Sunday of every month, doctors donating their time, volunteers running the floor.

2022

The clinic becomes a rhythm: monthly clinic days, hundreds of registered patients, and a growing bench of physicians, dentists, and student volunteers.

2023–24

SHN scales to seven clinic locations with a HIPAA-compliant EMR, adds dental and mental-health clinic days, and builds the free "clinic kit" so any community can replicate the model.

2025

SHN partners with the City of Fresno and the Mayor's Office on the #OneFresno initiative — 14 med students, 10 volunteers, and 4 physicians delivering free screenings in a single day — and crosses 70 free clinics held nationwide.

Today

A growing national network of doctors, students, and sevadars — with technology, partnerships, and a vision: a free clinic in every community that needs one.

What happens at a clinic

Walk in. Be heard. Leave healthier.

Free consultations

One-on-one time with volunteer physicians for health concerns, screenings (blood pressure, glucose), and guidance on next steps — including help navigating care you may already qualify for.

Dental & mental health days

Specialty clinic days bring volunteer dentists and mental-health professionals into the same trusted community spaces.

Health education

Seminars and workshops — diabetes, heart health, preventive care — in the languages our communities speak, from people they trust.

Our clinics provide free preventive guidance, screenings, and health education. They do not dispense or prescribe medication; patients needing treatment are connected to appropriate care.

Impact spotlight

#OneFresno: health equity, delivered.

14 med students. 10 volunteers. 4 physicians. 1 mission.

In partnership with the City of Fresno and the Mayor's Office, SHN delivered free health screenings and medical consultations to the community — and proved a model that cities and medical schools across the country can replicate.

Want this in your city? We bring the entire infrastructure — EMR, legal, funding, physician network — ready to power your mission.
